I'm Feeling Sad

I've spoken with a ton of photogs today and have done 2 live chats and I'm honestly sad.

So many people keep telling me how did you do it, I don't think I can do this, like you?

NEVER say those words. You can do this. Say it You can do this. You can do this, you can do this. I don't care if you have to get naked and run around your block yelling and screaming that you can do this because yOU CAN DO THIS. if i can do this, that should make you feel like dude, i can really do this, if she can do this.

The second you say, you're not sure if you can do this, the very min. those words come out of your mouth, fear will ruin your dreams and your passion.

Every email I get about how I helped someone get a bit closer to their dream makes me so stoked you don't even know. but who am i? I'm just a photog from a little town of danville, that shoots a whole lot of weddings and does really crazy cracked out things w/ my selling technique & workflow.

You can do this. You guys are so talented. I know you may look up to other photogs and think wow, i can never be like them. But that should never be the goal anyway. To be like me, or this person or that person is never and should never be the goal. To be like you, should be the goal.

You are what's going to make this career work for you, you are going to be the one putting in the hard hours and you are the only person that can sell your work, you are the only person that can make you a success. In turn you're the only person that can make you not a success.

I understand its hard but you have to have blind faith that you can do this. Not everyone will make it, but I guarantee you it's not because they can't make it, it's because it wasn't their true passion.

If you want this.. bad.. you're trying everything you can, you're trying to soak up every little ounce of info into your brain, your hubs is tired of you talking photog and editing and he wish you'd just talk to him like you used it, then you're almost there. That's what it is. That's the passion. When you're in love with someone, you can't stop talking about them, you want to be w/ them all the time. That's what it's like having a job that's your passion. It's not even work. I work 24/7, not because this is a job but because it's my passion. It makes me happy. I couldn't imagine having it any other way.

So if you say.. I just don't know if I can do this... I say...what's the worst that can happen?

Thank you for posting this. I've purchased many of your templates (thanks to your fabulous sales!) and am soaking up all the info I can. I don't shoot nearly as often as I'd like to be and I really needed to hear this today. I think I am going to print it out and hang it up somewhere and read it when I am not feeling confident. :)
