When do you start charging for your photography sessions?

QOTD from marissa: "When did you know it was the right time to start charging for your sessions?"

Heather: When my clients told me I was to good not to haha

Crystal: When you start getting really busy with the free ones and it literally interferes with your life!

Brittany: When it takes your personal time

Zoe: When I started to get requests outside my family and friends and had more education under my belt

Spiffy Pix Photography: I see some 'pros' that charge for their work and their photos are severely lacking, IMO. I still don't charge. I look at requests for shoots as a free learning experience for me. I can't imagine charging someone, only to have them not be happy with the results. Just because someone tells you that you take great photos ("You should charge!"), doesn't mean that you do (I'm not referring to anyone specific here).

I'd rather be my harshest critic than have people be disappointed.

Hope that didn't across as too harsh! It's just my opinion.

Captured by Jess: When you start feeling resentful giving away your services. ;)
