My friend and I have been planning on going into business together for several years and while the plans are still a ways down the road, winning this giveaway would be a huge investment in our business. We're both rather strapped financially right now, and are doing what we can with what we have in the meantime, but winning this giveaway would allow us to buy the equipment that we really need to take off.

One of the hardest things about starting my business has been finding the money to purchase more adequate equipment and supplies. I have been moving my business more towards shooting weddings and I hate the idea of shooting a wedding without a backup camera but don't have the funds to purchase one at this moment. Winning this giveaway would mean a HUGE improvement in my photography career. I am currently limited by the equipment that I have, which is what I can afford, and while I love my gear and can definitely create some lovely work with it, I know that there are several improvements that need to be made to take my work to the next level, specifically buying better glass. :) The website and forum membership is just icing on the cake, covering the marketing and web presence that I would need to take my career up a notch. Everything on this giveaway is amazing and things that I would otherwise have to save for years to afford, so winning this giveaway would mean hitting the fast forward button on my goals. :) Enough waiting, let's get this started!

First…. THANK YOU. What a generous giveaway. It is Christmas and this is truly in the spirit of giving. I believe in giving back and I too am trying to give back. I have asked my followers to send me their stories of families that might not be able to afford a photography session. The stories I have received are so touching and I can't wait to give away some sessions (one session has now turned into at least 4!)
What would I do with such a generous gift. Well I have been a photographer for 3.5 years. I decided while I was off on maternity leave with my last child that if I didn't try to make a go of my own business I might always wonder what if…. and it's been amazing! Every year I get a bit busier. I am also an xray tech at a hospital – this is my mortgage money – that money that is for sure. I work 4 days a week at the hospital and do photography on top of this. I also have three kids all 6 and under. I do all of my editing work after they go to bed…. and often up until after 1am. I find I am putting in 60+ hrs a week and I am exhausted! A good exhausted. 6 weeks ago I had to have major surgery and I have been home and I have been away from the hospital. I have been spending my time only doing photography. My husband said the other day that it was been so nice to spend time with you …. it's been so nice that you have time to spend with your family…. that makes me sad as I obviously have not be balancing all aspects of my life well!
I want so badly to quit my job at the hospital (oh my I said it out loud) and do photography full time. The gift would allow me to get a second camera… make a lens or two…. and a new website WOW!!!!! I would LOVE to win this gift.

5. The best part of the giveaway!!!
I had my first photography gig this year and my business has been growing very slowly, but I am very excited to continue this journey. At this point I have had a few paid gigs, but unfortunately not enough to quit my day job and pursue this on a more professional level. I would love to have an official website to showcase my work and attract a bigger clientele. Facebook fan pages are great but not a very professional portfolio to show potential clients. That is why the Creative Motions Design free webpage would be an ideal prize to win. I was happily surprised when I read this was one of the prizes! I also have big plans for the $2,500!!! First of all, I was asked if I do weddings, which I never have. This is something I have been so apprehensive to go into. I usually do portraits, families, newborns, but a WEDDING?!?!? Needless to say I need to get a lot of equipment if I should decide to take this job. I need a flash, a lighting system, softboxes, well let's just say a lot!!!
I also have another use for a portion of the Adorama gift: my friend (who is also an aspiring photographer) is a new mommy and very excited to photograph her daughter as well as other children and babies. Recently while taking pictures her camera broke and is now unfixable. She lost her day job in October and now without a camera cannot even get photography jobs for supplemental income. I would LOVE to be able to afford to get her a new camera! That would be so cool if your giveaway could help her get back on her feet after a very hard year financially & emotionally for her!

Winning this giveaway would be a blessing. My husband and I have been struggling so badly these past few months and I've been trying my best to make as much business as possible, but it's tough when equipment goes out or breaks and I can't replace it. Winning this would revamp my business plan AND would let me have a proper website instead of a free blog!
For 2012 I would have a better camera (I should with an entry level, bottom of the barrel rebel), I would amp up my lighting equipment as I only have on external flash, and I would be able to have my own camera bag and even LOOK more professional (as I carry around a friend's old one that she does want back). And having a proper website would, no doubt, bring in more business as it looks more legitimate and professional.

Oh also I would love this because it would allow me the ability to step up my lenses to a higher level and possibly cover half the move for me from a crop to a full frame which would be great. This whole thing would set me up for sucess, cant thank you guys enough for the opertunity!!
